The trip
Overview
December in Abu Dhabi means one thing for motorsport people: the season finale at Yas Marina, raced into the night under floodlights. This journey wraps the Grand Prix weekend in a three-night Yas Island hotel stay — walking distance or a short shuttle from the circuit, with Ferrari World and Yas Beach on the doorstep for non-race hours — and then, when the podium champagne is dry, moves you onto a four-night Gulf sailing to let the adrenaline settle.
The cruise leg departs from Abu Dhabi or Dubai depending on the season's schedule, typically calling at a mix of Doha, Bahrain and Sir Bani Yas Island. It is a deliberately gentle contrast: after three days of engineering and noise, you get sea air, long lunches and a pool deck. One important note on honesty — race tickets, grandstand categories and the exact event dates are verified and quoted at booking stage; we never bundle them sight-unseen.
Book early. Race weekend compresses hotel availability across Abu Dhabi months in advance, and the cruise cabins that align with the event weekend go with it.

Day by day
Days 1–3
Yas Island — race weekend
Arrive Friday for practice and qualifying, or Thursday if you want a Ferrari World or Yas Waterworld day first. The race itself starts in daylight and finishes under lights, and the after-race concerts have become a fixture of the weekend. Hotels range from circuit-view properties to quieter beach resorts ten minutes away — we match the property to your ticket category and budget.
Days 4–7
The sailing — four nights to decompress
A short transfer to the ship on Monday and the pace changes completely. Four nights around the Gulf, typically drawing ports from Doha, Bahrain and Sir Bani Yas Island with a sea day on some routings — ashore it is souks, forts and beach; on board it is the spa, the pool and unhurried dinners. Possible ports only: the itinerary we confirm always matches the actual sailing.
Day 8
Alongside by breakfast
Disembark in Abu Dhabi or Dubai in the morning and be home, or at the airport, before lunch. The whole trip fits inside a single week of leave plus a weekend.
Possible ports of call
Event-led concept — race dates, ticket inventory, cruise line, ship and routing are all verified at quote stage. Event tickets are never included until confirmed.
When to go
The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix traditionally closes the Formula 1 season in late November or early December, which is also the heart of the Gulf cruise season — the one window in the year when this combination lines up. Confirmed race dates, ticket categories and the sailings that align with them are verified each season at quote stage; hotel prices across Abu Dhabi rise sharply for race week, so this is a book-months-ahead trip.
