The trip
Overview
Seven nights out of Dubai turns the Gulf mini-cruise into a proper holiday. The longer sailings reach further — Muscat and Khasab on the Omani side, Bahrain, sometimes Sir Bani Yas Island for a beach day — and build in sea days that give the ship time to breathe. Which ports appear depends entirely on the sailing you choose; we only ever confirm the routing that matches it.
The week format suits people who already know they like cruising, and families who want a full school-holiday week without airports. There is time for a desert excursion from one port and a lazy do-nothing sea day, rather than having to choose. Evenings settle into a rhythm: sail-away on deck, dinner, a show or the quiet lounge, repeat.
Because several lines position ships in the Gulf each winter, we can be genuinely picky on your behalf — matching cabin, ship size and onboard style to how you actually holiday, then quoting the specific sailing.

Day by day
Day 1
Board in Dubai
Boarding from midday at Port Rashid or Dubai Harbour, with the first evening spent getting your bearings — restaurant bookings, kids club registration, a walk of the top deck as the city lights come on. Choose a balcony if you can; the Gulf winter makes it usable morning and night.
Days 2–7
The wide Gulf loop
A typical week mixes four or five port calls with one or two sea days. Depending on the selected sailing, that can mean the Mutrah souq and corniche in Muscat, a dhow cruise through the inlets at Khasab, the Bahrain National Museum, a Doha city morning or a Sir Bani Yas beach day — with sea days for the spa, the pools and the long lunch you keep promising yourself. These are possible ports, not a schedule; the confirmed itinerary always follows the actual sailing.
Day 8
Disembark at home
Alongside in Dubai by breakfast time. Luggage is handled for you overnight, so it is coffee, one last breakfast at sea and a short drive home.
Possible ports of call
Inspirational routing — line, ship, ports and sea-day pattern are confirmed when we quote a specific sailing.
When to go
Seven-night Gulf itineraries operate in the winter season, broadly November to March, when ships are based in the region and the weather is at its best for deck life and shore days. Christmas, New Year and February half-term sailings book furthest ahead; January often offers the calmest combination of weather and availability.
