The trip

Overview

Few resorts carry as much Ryder Cup history as The Belfry: four editions staged on the Brabazon, more than anywhere else, and the 10th and 18th holes are still the ones every visiting golfer stands over rehearsing shots they have watched since childhood. The stay-and-play formula could not be simpler — hotel, spa and three courses on one Warwickshire estate, ten minutes off the motorway and half an hour from Birmingham's airport, which Emirates serves directly from Dubai.

Three nights carries three rounds: the Brabazon as the centrepiece, the PGA National as the modern second test, and the Derby to loosen up or settle the scores. Evenings stay on-site — the resort runs several restaurants and enough bars to host the post-round inquest properly. It is the UK golf break at its most frictionless, and a natural bolt-on to any England trip.

Tee sheets at a venue this famous run hot, so nothing here is assumed: every round is requested, verified and confirmed with you before booking.

Highlights

  • The Brabazon — four-time Ryder Cup course with its iconic 10th and 18th
  • The PGA National as the second championship test
  • A warm-up or decider round on the Derby
  • Everything on one estate — hotel, spa, courses and bars
  • Direct Dubai–Birmingham flights, thirty minutes from the resort

Who it suits

  • Golfers who grew up on Belfry Ryder Cups and want the shots for themselves
  • UAE summer escapees — England in June beats the Gulf in June
  • Societies wanting a compact, zero-logistics championship break

Why this journey works

  • More Ryder Cups than any other venue, and you can play the course
  • Stay-and-play means no transfers between hotel and tee
  • Direct Dubai–Birmingham flights land thirty minutes away

Day by day

  1. Day 1

    Land, check in, loosen up

Morning arrival into Birmingham on the direct flight, and you can be on the range before lunch. The opening round takes the Derby — a genuine warm-up card — followed by the first of the resort dinners. Everything for the next three days is within a walk.

  2. Day 2

    The PGA National

The modern course takes the middle day: exposed, well-bunkered and a fair fight in wind. Afternoon in the spa or the leisure club, evening at the resort's sports bar while someone recalculates the trip handicaps.

  3. Day 3

    The Brabazon

The round the break is named for. Drive the 10th if you dare — everyone does, that is the point — and play the 18th over water to the tiered green where so many Ryder Cups have turned. Access unverified — Brabazon tee times are requested and confirmed before you book. Farewell dinner on the estate.

  4. Day 4

    Home by evening

Breakfast, a last look at the trophy cabinet, and the short transfer back to Birmingham for the direct flight — you are in Dubai by the evening landing wave.

Best Good Possible Less suitableSeasons are guidance, never a weather guarantee.

May to September is the Belfry's prime, with long evenings that fit a post-arrival nine; April and October are playable at gentler rates with British weather's usual terms and conditions. Winter golf runs on temporary arrangements some weeks. Summer weekends sell out well ahead — midweek dates are both quieter and better value.
