The trip
Overview
Cape Town gives golfers something no resort destination can: four rounds in genuinely different landscapes — vineyard golf at Steenberg under the Constantiaberg, Pearl Valley’s Nicklaus championship parkland in the Paarl winelands, Arabella laid along the Bot River lagoon, and a classic Cape course to finish — wrapped inside one of the world’s great city holidays. Table Mountain, the Peninsula drive and the winelands do the rest.
The week splits between a Cape Town base — Constantia or the V&A Waterfront — and two nights in the winelands around Franschhoek, so the golf transfers stay short and the evenings interesting. December to March is high summer at the Cape while the UAE sits in its own pleasant winter; the overnight flight and minimal time difference mean no jet lag in either direction, which makes this the easiest long-haul golf trip we sell.
Highlights
- ✦Steenberg’s vineyard golf beneath the Constantiaberg
- ✦Pearl Valley — Jack Nicklaus signature golf in the Paarl winelands
- ✦Arabella along the Bot River lagoon, a South African top-ten fixture

Who it suits
- ●Golfers whose partners want a world-city holiday, not a resort
- ●Wine-minded groups pairing four rounds with the Cape’s estates
- ●UAE residents using December to March when the Cape is at its best
Why this journey works
- ✓Four courses in four distinct settings — vineyard, parkland, lagoon, classic
- ✓Overnight flights both ways and no jet lag
- ✓The rand makes five-star Cape life notably good value from the UAE
Day by day
Day 1
Overnight to the Cape
The overnight flight from Dubai lands early with no meaningful time change. Check in at Constantia or the V&A Waterfront, gentle first day: Waterfront lunch, Table Mountain cableway if the tablecloth of cloud allows. Hotel style: five-star boutique or Waterfront hotel.
Day 2
Steenberg
Vineyard golf ten minutes from Constantia — mountain behind, vines alongside, and the estate’s tasting room waiting after the eighteenth. Access unverified — confirmed at booking.
Day 3
Peninsula rest day
No golf. The full Cape Peninsula loop: Chapman’s Peak Drive, the Cape of Good Hope, the penguins at Boulders Beach and lunch in Kalk Bay. One of the world’s great day drives, and the non-golfers’ highlight.
Day 4
Royal Cape or Clovelly, city evening
A classic Cape members’ course — Royal Cape, the country’s oldest club, is our usual request — then an evening in the city: Kloof Street dining or a Waterfront harbour table. Access unverified — confirmed at booking.
Day 5
To the winelands, Pearl Valley
Transfer an hour to wine country and play Pearl Valley’s Nicklaus championship layout the same day or next morning by preference. Check in around Franschhoek; dinner at one of the valley’s celebrated estate restaurants.
Day 6
Wine-tram day
No golf, on purpose. The Franschhoek wine tram hops between estates for tastings and a long lunch; designated non-tasters can ride Sir Lowry’s Pass for the views instead. Evening braai or fine dining — the valley does both properly.
Day 7
Arabella, farewell Cape
Drive over the mountains to Arabella on the Bot River lagoon — a closing stretch along the water that ranks with any finishing holes in the country. Farewell dinner back in Franschhoek or at the airport side of the city by flight time.
Day 8
Home overnight
Day at leisure by schedule, then the overnight flight home — landing in Dubai the next morning without a lost day.

When to go
November to March is Cape summer — dry, warm and occasionally windy, with the south-easter “Cape Doctor” a factor on exposed courses. April and October are gentle shoulder months; June to August is green, mild and rainy in spells, with winter rates to match. Book December and January early — Cape Town is the southern hemisphere’s festive magnet.
