The trip
Overview
Sotogrande and the western Costa del Sol hold the highest concentration of elite golf in continental Europe — this is Valderrama country, home of the 1997 Ryder Cup, and more recently of Finca Cortesín's Solheim Cup. Our journey aims at the top of that market: four rounds drawn from Finca Cortesín, La Reserva Club and the San Roque–Sotogrande cluster, based in one hotel at the quieter, greener western end of the coast rather than amid the Marbella bustle.
Six nights gives the trip air: four playing days, a rest day for Ronda or the beach, and evenings split between the hotel and the coast’s excellent chiringuitos. Be clear-eyed with us about access — several clubs here guard their tee sheets closely, and one or two famous names take very few visitors at all. We request, verify and confirm every round before anything is charged, and we will always tell you which courses are realistic in your travel week.

Day by day
Day 1
Málaga arrival, west to the quiet end
Fly Dubai to Málaga via a European hub (or direct where seasonal routes operate — we check at booking). The transfer west past Marbella takes about an hour; check in near Casares or Sotogrande. Dinner at the hotel. Hotel style: five-star with serious spa and gardens.
Day 2
Finca Cortesín
The marquee round first, while legs are fresh: Finca Cortesín’s immaculate corridors between cork oaks, the course that hosted the 2023 Solheim Cup. Long lunch at the clubhouse. Access unverified — this tee sheet in particular is confirmed before any booking.
Day 3
La Reserva Club, Sotogrande evening
Round two on La Reserva’s broad modern layout above Sotogrande, then an evening at the marina — the Friday polo-set atmosphere without the polo prices. Non-golfers can spend the day at La Reserva’s beach-club lagoon.
Day 4
Rest day — Ronda or the beach
The hour’s drive up to Ronda repays it: the Puente Nuevo over the gorge, the old bullring, lunch with a view. Beach loyalists stay down at Estepona or the hotel pool. Dinner back at the coast — Estepona old town has quietly become the best eating on this stretch.
Days 5–6
The Sotogrande cluster
Two closing rounds from the San Roque–Sotogrande pool — San Roque’s Old Course and Los Naranjos are typical requests, and where access allows we will always ask about the biggest names. Farewell dinner at the Sotogrande marina.
Day 7
Home via Málaga
Morning at leisure, transfer to Málaga and the flight home — most connections land you in Dubai overnight.

When to go
This coast plays well ten months a year; March to June and September to November are ideal, while July and August bring heat better suited to early tee times and beach afternoons. Winter is mild and quiet with occasional rain fronts. Elite-course tee sheets are tightest in spring — the earlier we can request, the better the outcome.
