The trip

Overview

Costa Navarino has quietly become the most complete golf destination in the eastern Mediterranean: four courses above the Bay of Navarino in Messinia, designed by names including Bernhard Langer and Jose Maria Olazabal, wrapped around a resort estate with hotels, a landmark spa and a stretch of genuinely beautiful Peloponnese coast. For UAE golfers it answers a question Belek and Vilamoura cannot — somewhere new, at the same flight range.

Five nights carries the full four-course set: the olive-grove Dunes, the clifftop Bay with its sea-edge holes, and the newer Hills and International Olympic Academy courses sharing a ridge to the south. Transfers between them are minutes, not hours, and buggies come bundled into most resort golf arrangements — we confirm exactly what applies at your dates.

Athens is the usual gateway from Dubai, with the drive south through the Peloponnese taking under three hours; seasonal regional flights to Kalamata shorten it further when schedules align. As ever, all four courses are a suggested set pending verification.

Highlights

  • All four Costa Navarino courses in a single stay
  • The Bay course's clifftop holes above Navarino Bay
  • The Dunes — Langer-designed golf through old olive groves
  • One of the largest spa and thalassotherapy centres in the region
  • Voidokilia beach and Venetian-era Pylos on the doorstep

Who it suits

  • Golfers who have worn out Belek and the Algarve and want new ground
  • Couples pairing four rounds with a serious spa
  • Groups collecting Europe's modern resort-golf destinations

Why this journey works

  • Four championship courses without a single hotel change
  • Spring and autumn windows match UAE escape seasons neatly
  • The Peloponnese setting gives rest days genuine substance

Day by day

  1. Days 1–2

    South through the Peloponnese

Fly Dubai to Athens and drive south — under three hours, and the scenery improves by the kilometre. Day two opens on the Dunes course, the estate original, rolling through olive groves with the bay appearing on the back nine. Dinner moves between the estate's restaurants; the Greek one first, obviously.

  2. Days 3–4

The Bay, then a Messinian day

The Bay course is the photograph round — holes hanging above the water with Pylos across the bay. Day four rests the swing: Voidokilia's horseshoe beach, the Venetian castle at Methoni, or a full spa afternoon. Gialova lagoon's birdlife earns a detour for the patient.

  3. Days 5–6

    The southern ridge, then home

A closing double-header for keen groups — the Hills course and the International Olympic Academy course share the southern ridge — or one of the two with a final beach afternoon. Drive back to Athens for the Dubai flight, or connect from Kalamata in season.

Best Good Possible Less suitableSeasons are guidance, never a weather guarantee.

April to June and September to October are Messinia at its best — warm, green and calm. July and August run hot, though still short of a Gulf summer, and the sea makes up the difference. Winter golf continues on mild weeks at softer rates. The resort's spring opening period books earliest; we plan around it.
